Property Information

1. Where is the resort located?
Rendezvous is located on seven acres of lush tropical gardens on the Malabar Beach, one of the best beaches on the island. This two miles of sea and sand provides 300 yards of beachfront and is ideal for a brisk morning jog, romantic evening stroll or the avid sunbather.

The resort's northwest location puts two miles from the capital city, Castries and five minutes from the George F L Charles Airport. It is one hour and fifteen minutes from the Hewanorra International Airport in View Fort, which is in the southern part of the island.

2. How long has the hotel been in existence?
The site of the resort was once a vast coconut estate where over thirty years ago a St. Lucian planter built his family home. Shortly thereafter the house was extended to include twenty bedrooms catering to the transient commercial traveller. It was then called the Malabar Beach Hotel. Over the years, the hotel grew and in 1983 the family took a franchise with the Couples chain of resorts. The hotel then became the first all-inclusive resort on the island. In 1993, the franchise ended and the resort reverted to the direct leadership of the family once again and the world’s first boutique hotel for couples, Rendezvous, was born.

3. When was the hotel last upgraded/ refurbished?
In December 2004, the Garden View Room refurbishment project was completed and in August 2002, we embarked on a refurbishment project, which was completed in 2003. This project was focused on upgrading accommodations and some public areas.
View Accomodations

4. How close is the Hotel to the beach?
Rendezvous sits on a 2-mile stretch of beachfront called Malabar Beach – probably the best beach that the island of St. Lucia has to offer. What’s even more enticing is that Rendezvous is the only resort located on that stretch! View Beach

5. Is the beach public or private?
All beaches on the island of St. Lucia are public.

6. Are beach towels included?
We do offer a beach towel exchange facility on the property.

In recent years, the range of shopping available in St. Lucia has become quite extensive. Local craft markets abound everywhere, where you can buy unique gifts and mementos to take home. In addition, St. Lucia boasts a number of shopping malls containing excellent fashion boutiques and speciality stores. In Castries, the capital city, just 5-7 mins away, "La Place Carenage" and "Point Seraphine" offer extensive duty free shopping including the best in fine jewellery and perfumes.

8. Is everything included in my romantic holiday?
The beauty of a holiday at Rendezvous is that you never really need money. Since everything imaginable is included, the distraction of money is really a non-issue. As you will see on both our website and in our brochure, the all-inclusive plan includes, in addition to your 5 Star accommodation, all meals and snacks, premium brand alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, daily activities including all land and water sports as well as scuba diving. It is quite simply the best value of any luxury resort.

Telephone calls, laundry facilities and boutique items are of course at an extra charge and there are also a few fabulous extras, such as Spa Tratments and the Special Occasions Menu that you might be interested in. All supplements are clearly indicated so there is no misleading small print!

Did you know, that during the recent World Travel Awards, St. Lucia was voted the World's Number One Honeymoon Destination?

9. When is the hurricane season?
Traditionally the hurricane season is from June until October however, St. Lucia is located outside of the main hurricane belt due to its southerly latitude. Most hurricanes occur much further North and St. Lucia is rarely troubled.
